Objective: To assist a poor community of rice farmers in the Quang Ngai Province in overcoming their difficulties due to yearly rain shortages and droughts. The well construction project will have a direct impact on income generation and food security in the region.
Background: The commune is located in one of the poorest provinces in Vietnam, an area which suffers from yearly rain shortages and drought. Rice farming is the main source of income and food for the majority of the households in this area. Assistance in the construc
Use of Funds: The funds will be used entirely for construction of the wells. 35 rice irrigation wells will be constructed. Construction per well (90USD) plus water pump (70USD) = 160 USD per well. 35 wells will cost 5600 USD. Two communal drinking wells will be built:
