Name of Requesting Association Imbono Yethu Project, Upper - Makwababa Village
Objective: To breed, raise and sell broilers and piglets as well as having laying hens, thereby providing nearby food for the community and work for unemployed in the area. The first phase is to raise the broilers and to use the proceeds to finance the laying hens.
Background: The Imbono Yethu Project was created in the Cofimba district in the Eastern Cape South Africa with full community support, the support of the Headman, the Chief, the Tribal Authority, the District Agricultural Department and ""all various local structures""
Use of Funds: The funds will be used for:
1) completion of the buildings which have been partially built with mud bricks and will be complemented by a structure secure from rats (needed for feed storage).
2) purchasing broilers and feed
3) transportation
