Objective: To assist 6 villages, 600 households (250 farming, 50 fish-farming, 300 casual labour) by replacing an unstable wooden bridge with a reinforced concrete bridge thus ensuring safe access to education, health and other public facilities.
Background: The project plan was initiated by the villagers at meetings with the Mangrove Service Network. There is experience with construction of this type of bridge from MYA/96/00 which has linked other villages nearby. Detailed maps and bridge design plans are in
Use of Funds: The funds from the 1% Fund would be used for the purchase of cement, gravel and other supplies. Some of the labour costs are also included but the construction company, the local monastery and the community are donating the rest of the labour.
